Amitabh Bachchan loves connecting to his fans, and is super active on social media. But another way he mingled with them was through his mandatory Sunday meets, outside his Mumbai residence. Every Sunday afternoon, fans would gather in hundreds to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar and wait until Bachchan came out to greet them. Of late, he was often accompanied by granddaughter Aaradhya as well!
Not many stars of his stature have such a ritual. The actor himself loved this as much as the fans, but thanks to the ongoing pandemic and the norms of social distancing, this has come to a halt as well, and he certainly misses the Sunday gathering dearly. He took to Twitter to share a photo of the empty road outside his Jalsa bungalow. No other person apart from two sweepers, cleaning the road, can be seen arouns. “Kaun kehta hai Sunday ki well wisher meetings band ho gayi Jalsa gate pe .. ye dekhiye …,” he wrote.

Around the time the national lockdown came into effect, Big B also requested his fans to drop their Sunday plan and stay at home instead. “To all Ef and well wishers an earnest request !PLEASE DO NOT COME TO JALSA GATE TODAY .. SUNDAY MEET am not going to come ! Take PRECAUTIONS .. be safe,” he wrote in his blog.
Hope we regain normalcy soon and your Sunday ritual can come back!
